What a great start we had this week at Nafshenu! At least two dozen people turned out at Lauren Thompson’s house Sunday afternoon for Mitzvah Day
to make sandwiches for Cathedral Kitchen, a Camden-based non-profit that provides nutritious meals for those in the area who are food insecure. We also had some songs and blessings for Tu B’Shevat, the “New Year of the Trees.”
And that was just the start. We have two exciting Zoom events coming this Shabbat: first, a Friday night singing service with a discussion of Torah - click here to register. On Saturday Morning, we join together again for the Bar Mitzvah of Brandon Price, whose family joined Nafshenu last year. As student rabbi,
I’ve had the pleasure of tutoring Brandon for his Torah reading and sermon and am so proud of what he’s accomplished. It will be great if you can help Brandon and his family mark this big step in his life - please click here to register and receive the Zoom link for Saturday morning.
Brandon’s Torah portion includes the Ten Commandments. And that’s only part of the cool stuff in Exodus 18:1-20:23, known as Parashat Yitro. I’ll have more to say about it in my message on Thursday. Until then, I hope you all have a healthy and safe week!
