Happy fall and (almost) New Year, my Nafshenu friends! It seems like forever since I’ve seen many of you. I look forward to seeing your faces as we launch a busy fall of learning, schmoozing-and-eating, and – of course – music and prayer. It all starts this week with Torah study and outdoor Shabbat services, leading up to the High Holidays – coming in less than two
weeks!
The Nafshenu community has a lot to look forward to over the next five weeks, starting Thursday with the re-launch of our weekly Torah study (bit.ly/NafTorah) on Zoom at 7 p.m. Then on Saturday morning we have a Shabbat service and potluck lunch under the tent at Prince of Peace church (9:30 a.m. start.) The forecast is for beautiful early fall weather. I’ll be bringing all my drums and need help from kids of all ages to make them resound.
Nafshenu’s customary Rosh on the River picnic and service
starts at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, September 25, at Cooper River Park’s Vista Deck (510 Park Blvd, Cherry Hill). I’m excited to announce that we will have a special musical guest, multi-instrumentalist Scott Mizrachi, to lead us in our singing-centered Rosh Hashanah evening service. The Rosh Hashanah day service will be at the Gibson House in Marlton, 535 E. Main St.,
starting at 9:30 a.m.
All the details on the holidays through Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat
Torah will go out in the next few days. And there’s lots more exciting news on services, a new Hebrew school program and collaboration with our friends at Prince of Peace.
Keep your eyes on your in-box and hope to see you soon – in real life!
Best wishes and blessings,
Rabbi David
