SHABBAT SHALOM!
Reminder for tomorrow and the weeks ahead
From Rabbi David
Please join
your Nafshenu community tomorrow morning (Feb. 25) for a musical Shabbat service and Tex-Mex-themed lunch. It starts at 9:30am in our cosy meeting space in Mary’s Room at Prince of Peace in Marlton. Freedom will be in the air as we read from the Torah about the newly liberated Israelites’ building the Tabernacle in the wilderness and focus on the coming freedom festivals of Purim and Passover. I’ll
bring the enchilada pie, guacamole, and chips. You bring a salad, side, drinks or dessert. You can also join on Zoom at our regular link: https://bit.ly/NafTorah.
What is Mary’s Room? It’s a small gathering spot that our gracious hosts make available to Nafshenu as part of their generous outreach to their Jewish neighbors. It’s friendly, warm and perfectly suited for our activities.
-*-*-*-*-
Every Thursday night (7-9pm), we meet on Zoom to talk about the week’s Torah portion and how our tradition relates to our real lives today. Please Zoom in next week (March 2), and the other upcoming Thursdays (the 9th, 16th23rd, 30th, etc.) at the regular link: https://bit.ly/NafTorah.
-*-*-*-*-
Put on your party hat (or at least your party attitude) for Nafshenu’s Purim Party on Monday, March 6, at
Prince of Peace. It starts at a school-night-appropriate 6pm, with readings from the story of Esther and Mordechai and a Purim-themed pizza party (hamantaschen-shaped pizza, anyone?). You don’t have to cook dinner – just bring a side, salad or dessert. And you can Zoom in as well: https://bit.ly/NafTorah.
-*-*-*-*-
Don’t wait to sign up for Nafshenu’s community seder. We’re using an updated version of the Haggadah from American Jewish World Service, Next Year in a Just World. It’s on the second night of Passover, Thursday, April 6. Please register at https://bit.ly/NafSeder!
