Thanks to everyone who made our Rosh Hashanah celebration a success, with great turnouts for the evening Rosh under the Big Top and the morning service at Prince of Peace. This Thursday night’s Torah Study on Zoom (Sept. 21, 7pm), looks at an unusual Jewish legal proceeding that opens our Yom Kippur observances: Kol Nidre. In it, we create a courtroom-in-a-synagogue for the
purpose of invalidating unfulfilled vows and oaths. What’s the history of Kol Nidre and why do we keep doing it? Please join me, Rabbi David, on Thursday for a give-and-take discussion at our regular Zoom link: bit.ly/NafTorah.
We’re taking special decoration and design efforts to make our space at Prince
of Peace feel like a spiritual Jewish setting. You’ll get a look at our Yom Kippur observances: Kol Nidre at 7pm Sunday (Sept. 24), Morning Service and Yizkor at 10am Sunday (Sept. 25), and Ne’ilah and break fast at 6:30/7:30pm Sunday). Please let us know you’re coming by registering at nafshenu.org/events.

We had a very interesting Torah study session last month led by Nafshenu member Etty Lassman. It dealt with the wide range of laws contained in the Torah portion Ki Teitze (Deuteronomy 21:10-25:19).
Etty put together sources and graphics in a slide show, and I highly recommend
giving it your attention. Here’s a link: bit.ly/NafKiteitze.
