TORAH STUDY: PURIM FOR ADULTS
Queen Vashti: A biblical case of "Me, Too?"
At 7pm tonight, Nafshenu has our regular Thursday night Torah discussion. Assuming that the underage people are off-camera, we'll take up some of the more adult themes in the
Book of Esther: drunken misbehavior, sexual objectification, patriarchal power abuse, violent ant-Jewish racism and the issue of responding to violence with violence.
And as we move into the next book of the Torah, Leviticus, we'll look at one of the less-well-known aspects of the Temple sacrificial system: the Grain offering, or Mincha. Its a lot less messy than all the animal sacrifices we read about. What does it have to say to us today? The Zoom link is bit.ly/NafTorah. ********************** COMING
