TORAH STUDY TONIGHT, SERVICE & POTLUCK TOMORROW

Please join Rabbi David 7-8pm tonight for the first in a 4-part series that is part of  our revived weekly Zoom Torah study. We're calling it Bible 101, and the idea is to use the weekly Torah/Haftarah portions as a window on the nature of the Hebrew Scriptures. SHABBAT SHALOM!

Please join your Nafshenu friends for a Friday evening potluck and Shabbat service. Rabbi David will bring Israeli salad and dips: hummus, babaganoush and techinah. Hear about David and Pearl's recent trip to see family and volunteer in Israel.

Other side and main dishes, desserts and drinks are welcome! We start at 6:30pm at Prince of Peace.

And on Thursday, we re-start our Zoom Torah study with a NEW APPROACH. It's the first of a 4-part series Bible 101 that examines parts of the Hebrew Bible we often ignore. We'll take the weekly Torah and Haftarah portions (Mishpatim, Exodus chapters 21-24; and Jeremiah 33:25-26 and 34:8-22) and use them as a jumping-off place to look at what the Bible is: what's in it and how it came together as an anthology of holy texts. You'll get a source sheet tomorrow.

Ahead at Nafshenu: PURIM PARTY

We're just over three weeks away from "Jewish Halloween." Purim celebrates the victory of the Jews of the Persian empire over the genocidal plot of Haman. Nafshenu is a community that knows how to have a good time. We proved it last year (see photos below) . Please plan to come for the NAFSHENU PURIM PARTY on Friday, March 14, at Prince of Peace. We'll do our Purim story play and have a potluck Purim/Shabbat dinner.
