This week's Torah and Haftarah readings contain songs-poems celebrating victories over military adversaries to the Israelites. We will look at the Song of the Sea in Exodus and David's song of thanks in Samuel 2, as well as the collection of Psalms
known as Hallel that is recited during Passover and other holidays.
