Potiphar's wife makes a play for Joseph, her husband's servant, getting him in trouble but leading to his rise to power.
There's a fair amount of adult content in this week's Torah portion,
Vayeshev (Genesis 37:1-40:23).
In it, 10 of Jacob's sons sell their brother Joseph (Daddy's favorite) into slavery. We have yet another Biblical example of parental preferences having serious consequences for their children.
We also
have three episodes of sexual misconduct that change the course of the story -- involving Jacob's son Judah, Judah's son Onan, Onan's wife Tamar, and the wife of Potiphar, the Egyptian who bought Joseph from Yishma'elite traders.
