Nafshenu's rain-altered Simchat Torah-Sukkot celebration will take place as planned/hoped tomorrow evening (10-14) at Shera and Eric's house. We'll have pizza and salad, plus whatever drinks and desserts you bring. We'll start at 6pm and end early enough for a school night event.

HOSTAGES FREED, FIGHTING HALTS

The people in Israel and Jews in America and around the world have reason to celebrate today, with the release of the remaining 20 hostages from Hamas's captivity and a halt to the bloodshed in Gaza. The past two years have seen an appalling loss of life, harsh suffering and profound heartbreak. They have also seen growing divisions within our nation and within the American Jewish community.

My hope and prayer is that the end of fighting, the liberation of the kidnapped Israelis, and the end of Hamas rule will lead to real and deep healing. I hope that they mark the first step toward real peace and wellbeing for all inhabitants of the Holy Land.

May the ONE who makes peace above also make peace for us down here, for all the Jewish people, and for all inhabitants of this suffering world.
