HELP MARK BERNIE GOODMAN'S YAHRZEIT
Note from Rabbi David Goodman
I hope that you can join me this Shabbat for Nafshenu's first Saturday morning service and meal of the new year. The kiddush and lunch are in honor of my dad, Bernard Goodman, whose yahrzeit is next week. Our family
was blessed to have him in our lives until his passing in 2023, at age 99.
Believe me when I say that Dad would have loved to join us. His family ran a grocery store in South Philly, and he came by his love of nosh honestly. It will be food he enjoyed: Bagels & lox, white fish, herring, and all the fixings. Love. Pray. Eat.
Our family is also honoring our parents' memories through the Joyce and Bernie Goodman Scholarship at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. This year's recipient, Jesse Weil, is looking forward to joining Nafshenu on an upcoming Shabbat. Watch for updates.
This Saturday's service starts at 10am in our space at Prince of Peace Church. We'll have singing, prayers, a Torah reading, and discussion. Looking forward to seeing you!
